چکیده

The Nuchal Translucency thickness measurement is made to identify the Down Syndrome in screening first trimester fetus and presented in this paper. The mean shift analysis and canny operators are utilized for segmenting the nuchal translucency region and the exact thickness has been estimated using Blob analysis. It is observed from the results that the fetus in the 14th week of Gestation is expected to have a nuchal translucency thickness of 1.87±0.25mm. KeywordsDown syndrome, Nuchal translucency thickness, Mean Shift Analysis and Blob analysis.

Evaluation of Nuchal Translucency Measuremen in First Trimester Pregnancy

Background A significant number of pregnancies, particularly in women with previous histories of infertility, are associated with fetal abnormalities. Methods such as the nuchal translucency (NT) measurement enable us to identify more pregnancies with chromosomal abnormalities. MaterialsAndMethods This analytic cross-sectional study was performed in 446 pregnant women at 11-14 weeks gestation, ...

First Trimester Ultrasound in Prenatal Diagnosis—Part of the Turning Pyramid of Prenatal Care

First-trimester sonographic assessment of the risk of chromosomal abnormalities is routinely performed throughout the world, primarily by measuring fetal nuchal translucency thickness between 11-13 weeks' gestation, combined with assessment of serum markers. The development of high-frequency transvaginal transducers has led to improved ultrasound resolution and better visualization of fetal ana...

First-trimester nuchal translucency measurement and echocardiography at 16 to 18 weeks of gestation in prenatal detection for trisomy 18.

BACKGROUND Trisomy 18, the second most common autosomal trisomy, has the highest incidence of congenital heart disease of all chromosomal abnormalities. This study assessed the use of nuchal translucency (NT) measurement and fetal echocardiography at 16 to 18 weeks of gestation in prenatal detection for trisomy 18. METHODS Screening for chromosomal aneuploidy using fetal NT measurement was pe...

Aneuploidy screening in the first trimester.

This article reviews the performance of first trimester screening for chromosomal anomalies using various combinations of ultrasound and maternal serum biochemical modalities. Detection rates in excess of 90% can be routinely achieved for Trisomy 21, Trisomy 13, Trisomy 18 using a combination of fetal nuchal translucency (NT) thickness and maternal serum free ss-hCG and PAPP-A at 11 + 0 to 13 +...

Image Classification for Ultrasound Fetal Images with Increased Nuchal Translucency during First Trimester Using SVM Classifier

Increased Nuchal Translucency is an indicator of increased risk for Down syndrome, which is identified by measuring Nuchal Translucency from ultrasound fetal images during 11 to 13 weeks of gestation. Increased NT is associated with chromosomal abnormalities. In this study an efficient classification system based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is proposed to detect the normal and abnormal ...
